Glamis Dunes

We made it! We pulled into Glamis around 4:30 pm to sunny weather, a nice breeze and all the sand one could wish for. Our hosts Johnny and Stacy stay here 7 months out of the year selling parts to the motorcyclists and 4 wheeling folks that drive out here during the winter months. We had plenty of sunshine to get us through setting up camp, riding in the Rhino, in the Gator and on the Eton. It sounds like we brought a menagerie with us!

Sam is adjusting to the sand in his shoes, Toby is trying hard to ignore the bugs, and Jessie is helpful and playful. Jeff pulled out this super big kite we have had for a couple of years to fly and it got a lot of oohs and aaahs. Grams gave it to us and it is a giant wasp. The wings are what really make it pop while it flies. For dinner we grilled up some cheeseburgers and hot dogs over a charcoal grill. I have forgotten just how tasty charcoal makes food. It didn't take long for all of us to crash as soon as we hit the pillows, but we were up by 8 ready to play the day away.

I will post some pictures later and we will update you about our adventures in the sand!
