Aaaaalllllllll Aboard!

Hot and windy, dry and sunny, fun and busy!

Our Day Out With Thomas turned out great!

With the plan of leaving around 7 am our day started pretty early, but even though we felt tired from playing at Disneyland the day before we gladly woke up, got ready, and piled into the big, grey van for our drive to see Thomas.

Once a year for 2 weekends Thomas the Tank Engine and his friend Bob the Builder visit the Orange Empire Railway Museum in Perris, CA, and for our second time we have gone to meet them. It took us a little longer to get there than it should have because Mommy and Daddy didn't read the map right and we took a detour through a neighborhood. It only made us more excited to get there and start the fun!

Our tickets for our ride on Thomas were not until 1 pm, but we like to get there early (before 9 am) so we can enjoy the other stuff before it gets crazy! Like bounce houses, lego trains, tattoos, a maze, climbing on a caboose and watching Thomas chug by. This year we watched the Bob the Builder show from the very front row. We were so close to Bob we could have touched him! We packed a sack lunch and enjoyed a picnic before our train ride. Then we got Daddy to pull us around in the wagon, and he got us to pull HIM in the wagon! The laughter could be heard from all we passed, and our giggles and grunts added to the humor!

Our ride on Thomas was smooth going, Pipa, Uncle BJ, Haley, Daddy, Sam and Uncle Kenny sat on one side of the train, and Grandma Joan, Toby, Aunt Jen, Cameron and Mommy sat on the other side. Our windows were not open enough to really look out, but we enjoyed the ride.

After the train ride we decided to head out for the day, and began the short but long drive back to the RV park. A bad fire started burning in the hills and they began closing down roads and freeways. We took a well planned out detour, that hundreds of others took too, and it took us over 4 hours to get back. Whew!

Oh dear, must you remind me about that drive home? AAAAAHHHH! Remember when dad started barking at dogs in nearby cars? WOW...that was a LONG drive!

But yes, great fun. And we'll remember all that forever!
