Summer Vacations!
For Christmas last year Mima gave us and our cousins a week trip to a beach house in California. Right after school got out we packed up a ton of things and drove San Diego. The trip turned out great. We had plenty of room to have personal space and a big enough space to be together as a family. The kids loved playing in the ocean and made some pretty awesome sand castles. We had a mini graduation celebration since the boys and Cameron graduated Kindergarten and Haley had graduated pre-school. We could have all stayed another week.

While there we went to the Natural History Museum and checked out the Dinosaurs. We spent a day at Legoland and even went to a surprise birthday party for a friend who lives in Vegas.

For July 4th we always go to Brianhead, UT. This year we had 2 special guests with us, Zach and Megan. They are our cousins from Oregon. We flew them to Vegas to spend the 4th with us and the following week, then we would all drive up to Oregon for a long vacation. Well while they were here two of our grandparents passed away, so we extended their trip so they could be here for the services. While they were here we swam, went to the kids museum, had food fights and nerf gun wars.

After almost 2 weeks we finally loaded up the long, long trailer and started the drive to their home in Oregon. It took a work of some smart guys (Jeff and Tim) to figure out how to park the trailer in Tim’s driveway, but they managed and we took up residence for 3 weeks. Jeff flew home to work and the boys and I enjoyed the quiet and cool weather of Springfield, OR.

We fed chickens, had water fights, had a dress up sleepover night, pitched a tent, visited a children’s museum and had a wonderful time. We even got to spend some time with Aunt Chrystell’s family.
