Leprechaun Luck!

Last year a tricky leprechaun came to our house and played some pranks. He turned fluids green and messed up our stuff. This year we decided to make traps - to catch that sneaky little guy. We lured the Leprechaun with some gold coins t the end of a rainbow inside our box. The bottom of the box was sticky so that he couldn't get back out!

We woke up this morning and the trap failed! The leprechaun made a mess of them and took the gold coins. He left us a note and some candies. Immediately we started looking and found the water tinted green in the toilets. The milk, juice, eggs, and pancake mix all turned green too! Near the traps we noticed some gold glitter and another note. It sent us to our bookshelves where we found new books! Mom read them to us right away! How he knew we liked Star Wars is a mystery.

After eating our green breakfast we headed out the door to school and found another note from our Leprechaun. He told us to look for all the colors of the rainbow on the way to school. In the van we found a new box of crayons for school and then shared with Mom all the colors of the rainbow we could find on the drive to school.

Mom helped out in our class today. First she watched us dance our Irish Jig in chapel and then we found out the Leprechaun Michael Finnigan had been in our classroom. He made a mess! We went to tell the Principal and found that he had been there too! He left a magic potion for us to drink, but warned that if adults drank it they would turn green. Mrs. Zapolski took a few sips and she looked fine, but she started getting itchy and hot as the morning went on. After eating our rainbow cupcakes she couldn't take the itching anymore and took off her shoes and socks. HER FEET AND LEGS HAD TURNED GREEN!

When we got home from school the Leprechaun had left us a new game called Trouble to play with our parents. Then on the table outside he left us gardening supplies. He even left us a craft to make bird feeders out of pinecones!

We are already planning our traps for next year, maybe something deeper so the little guy can't get back out!

Happy St. Patrick's Day!
