With a pizza pasta casserole in hand we walked down the stairs into the basement of the Grace Community Church for our family potluck at school. We were excited to be eating dinner at school, and even got to sit with Mrs. Zapolski (our teacher), Kiefer (boy in our class) and his sister and dad. Sometimes it is odd how small the world can be because Mom found out the 1st and 2nd grade teacher at our school is the mom of our swim instructor over the summer. No wonder we liked her so much, we LOVED her daughter!
After dinner we showed our parents and grandparents where our desks were, all the neat stuff we put into them by opening up the top, and listened as Mrs. Zapolski spoke about all the learning, fun and praying we will do this year. At the end of the night she showed us a red school house made by our Mima! Mima had made it for Mrs. Z when Dad and Aunt Jen had her for a teacher. She still keeps it in her classroom. 
Today after we post this we are off to a Fun Friday event. We have no idea what a slip and slide is, and Mom told us to just wait and see.
